Guests are invited to write a blessing, hope or promise for the married couple's, or in a naming ceremony, the child's future on a pre-printed card and bring it to the ceremony.
At a Wedding, these can be ceremoniously posted into a wishing well as music is played, for the couple to read after their return from their honeymoon. This is a lovely way to involve every person at your wedding and they have a chance to say something very personal and individual just for you.
For a naming ceremony, at the appropriate time, each guest is invited to share their hopes and dreams for the child’s life.
These can vary from more traditional hopes, dreams and blessings to more unusual or humourous promises, such as “‘Justin Thomas’, I promise that I will take you to at least 3 AFL games a year! Love Uncle John!”
